Before you start

A few things make this easier

  • A loose sense of your story arc and where you want to be in 1, 3, and 5 years
  • Two or three proof points — players coached, recruiting wins, schemes you ran
  • Optional: PDFs you are proud of (playbooks, install docs, presentations)

Required fields are minimal. Skip anything that does not serve your story — the more context, the sharper the dossier.

How he got here
Webb spent his first four years at the FCS level, where he quickly developed a reputation for physical, technically precise O-line units built around double-teams and pulling guards. His move to Power Four didn’t come through a splashy hire — it came through a referral from HC Bill Torrence, who had watched his linemen dismantle Torrence’s defense in a scrimmage. That relationship became a defining one in Webb’s career.
2008–11

Hartwell University (FCS)
Built foundational coaching identity under HC Ron Adkins. Line went from 108th to 34th nationally in run-block grade in 3 seasons.
2012–16
OL Coach
Clarendon University (Big Central)
First P4 role. Part of two conference championship staffs. Developed C Darius Hollis (2nd round, 2015 NFL Draft).
2017–21
OL Coach / Run-Game Coord.
Pacific Coast University (Pac West)
Title expanded in 2019 to include run-game coordination. Three draft picks in four years. Survived two HC transitions — retained by both incoming staffs.
2022–
OL Coach
Midland State (Alliance)
Followed HC Torrence in a lateral move by design — rebuilding a program with a coach he trusts. Midland’s sack rate improved 41% in year one.

How he thinks about the job
On technique
Footwork before strength, always. Webb believes most bad blocks are diagnosed incorrectly — they’re a footwork failure sold as a leverage failure.
On retention
He’s been retained through two HC changes. That’s not luck — it’s a result of being a net-positive in every room, not just the position meeting.
On the portal era
Webb was an early advocate for using transfer linemen as "glue guys" — vets who anchor culture while freshmen develop. Midland’s portal strategy under his input reflects this.
On next steps
Seeking an OC role at a program where run-game philosophy is a structural commitment — not a fallback. Open to P4 lateral moves with the right HC relationship.
